At present, in the Dalian decoration market, ordinary people are not willing to buy finished furniture. 90% of people will choose customized furniture as an important part of the decoration. There is indeed a lot of knowledge here. If you are not careful, you can easily get into trouble.
一. Material selection
1. Cabinet board selection
The boards used for customized furniture mainly include particle boards, formaldehyde-free boards, European pine boards, multi-layer boards, ecological boards, and solid wood boards.
①Particle board
Generally refers to solid wood particle board. It is an artificial board made of wood or wooden poles, broken logs, fine wood fibers on both sides, and long wood fibers in the middle. After applying adhesive, it is glued under the action of heat and pressure. The panel facing is melamine facing, and its cross-section shows Honeycomb panels.
Advantages: good stability, easy to process; high strength, not easy to deform; the interior is granular with a cross-staggered structure, strong nail-holding power, and can be used to drive round nails and screws.
Disadvantages: Glue will be used during processing, and the environmental performance is slightly poor; the hardness is high, and it is difficult to make curves and shapes. Mainly used for: cabinets, wardrobes, furniture
②Formaldehyde-free board
That is, formaldehyde-free artificial boards are produced using wood or non-wood plant fiber materials as the main raw materials, with the addition of formaldehyde-free adhesives or no adhesives, and without the addition of other additives containing formaldehyde. A board that does not contain additives containing formaldehyde from the board core to the finish can be called a formaldehyde-free board. The formaldehyde emission limit is 0.03 mg/m.
Advantages: high environmental protection; good stability; affordable, much cheaper than solid wood boards; moisture-proof and heat-resistant.
Disadvantages: difficult to identify
③Ou pine board
The raw materials of OSB are mainly soft needles, small diameter wood of broad-leaved trees, fast-growing thinning wood, etc., such as eucalyptus, fir, poplar thinning wood, etc., which come from a wide range of sources, and can be manufactured into large panels (such as 2.4×9.8 m or 3.7×7.3m). The manufacturing process mainly involves drying, gluing, directional paving and hot-pressing shavings of a certain geometric shape (usually 50-80mm long, 5-20mm wide, 0.45-0.6mm thick).
Advantages: low formaldehyde emission, high environmental protection, comparable to natural wood; strong and durable, lighter than furniture made of particle board
Disadvantages: high price, poor flatness, a bit prickly when the surface is not painted
④Multilayer board
The production method of multi-layer boards is generally to make the inner layer pattern first, then use printing and etching to make a single-sided or double-sided substrate, and put it into the designated layer, and then heat, pressurize and bond it.
Advantages: stable structure, strong pressure resistance, not easy to deform, high waterproof level
Disadvantages: Not suitable for engraving on the surface, low environmental protection
⑤Ecological board
Ecological board is also called paint-free board and melamine board.
Advantages: It has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, acid and alkali resistance, moisture resistance, fire resistance, etc. The surface is not easy to change color and peel, and it is easy to be processed into veneers with different styles and strong textures.
Disadvantages: The middle main part of the ecological board is made of spliced wooden squares, which is prone to deformation and mold and insect infestation due to moisture.
⑥Solid wood board
Solid wood boards are wood boards made from intact wood (logs).
Advantages: natural texture; natural and environmentally friendly; good hygroscopicity and breathability, beneficial to human health; long service life;
Disadvantages: expensive; easy to deform and crack; difficult to maintain
Purchasing suggestions:
Currently, the most commonly used board on the market is particle board. If you have a limited budget, you can choose this. Those with a higher budget can choose formaldehyde-free boards, European pine boards, and multi-layer boards. If you are not short of money, you can choose solid wood boards.
二. Environmental protection
One of the most concerning issues in whole-house customization is environmental protection. Environmental issues are related to the health of your family after moving in and must be taken seriously.
Currently, the formaldehyde emission standards certified on the market mainly include national standards, European standards, and Japanese standards. As long as it reaches the national standard E1 level, it meets the standard, and the higher one is the new national standard ENF level. When purchasing, be sure to read the test report from an authoritative organization.
三. Acceptance
Acceptance mainly depends on these details:
1. Is there any gap at the joint between the cabinet and the wall?
Gaps can easily form sanitary dead corners, which can lead to the emergence of cockroaches over time. If there are any gaps, be sure to let the merchant handle them.
2. Whether the content of formaldehyde, benzene, etc. exceeds the standard
Although environmental protection issues were discussed during customization, after the cabinet is installed, it is still necessary to conduct an on-site test to feel more confident. You can find a professional testing company to do door-to-door testing.
3. Whether the hardware is installed properly
Hardware installation is a detail job, and this aspect must not be ignored during acceptance. Pay attention to details such as hinges and nail holes.
4. Is the edge sealing intact?
Edge sealing not only affects the appearance, but is also related to environmental protection and health. Good edge sealing can inhibit the volatilization of harmful substances such as formaldehyde. It must be taken seriously.
5. Are there any knocks, dents or damage to the cabinet door and cabinet body?
